Design, development and evaluation of a digital educational resource to the introduction to Management information Systems

This document presents the process of design, development and evaluation of a digital educational resource for first semester students of Management Information Systems of the National University of Colombia, Manizales. This undergraduate curricular program works in an interdisciplinary area of knowledge that is related to administration and information technology. The content of the digital educational resource is based on the professional profile of this discipline, the basic concepts of General Theory of Systems and Systemic Thinking. The elements of the resource were designed by the teachers of the course and adapted to digital format by specialized professionals. The resource was consulted and used by students of the course, who through a survey evaluated each of its elements and the impact on their learning. The results show that the digital educational resource gave support to the topics studied in classroom and to the knowledge about the basic concepts of this interdiscipline. The students evaluated very positively the conceptual maps, the slides and the concepts related to the General Theory of Systems. It is proposed that future versions of this resource integrate the results of the activities indicated in the resource and developed for the students.
