摘要
The present study explores social representations on parenting practices in Venezuelan migrant families who living in a neighborhood in Bogota, Colombia. The theory of social representations allows us to explore the beliefs, attitudes and behaviors that migrant families experience in a social environment that pushes them according to the acculturation model towards the integration of a new culture. A content analysis was conducted through qualitative methodology, after a semiestructured interview on a sample of twenty-eight Venezuelan migrant women and three Venezuelan migrant men. The content analysis was carried out from the grounded theory with the help of the program Atlas. ti version 7 (R). Among the most relevant results are codes that are oriented towards maintaining the traditional values and social norms of the family's culture of origin based on the strategy of separation, while others opt for communication with their children as an integration strategy that consolidates the family union with contributions from their place of origin and the receiving group.
