摘要
Currently, cloud computing is adopted by industry leaders to solve grant IT challenges faced by GIS. This paper proposed an alternative approach to providing cloud GIS services based on scalable cluster. Compared to ArcGIS server 10.1, the approach uses three functional clusters instead of P2P architecture for scalability. A system was implemented. A cluster consisted of 30 customized cheap machines was built for experiments. Experimental results show that, the approach performs well in scalability. Moreover, great speed-up is gained while dealing with massive visits.
