Physics prospects of the BABAR experiment at PEP-II

The short description of the prospects of BABAR, the new B meson decay experiment at SLAC to start in 1999, includes the parameters of PEP-II, possibilities for going beyond its design luminosity, and the main physics goals of BABAR. These include precision measurements of the sides and angles of the CKM Unitarity Triangle. With an integrated luminosity of 30/fb, corresponding to design luminosity and one year of operation, V-cb can be measured to +/-5%, \V-ub\ to +/-10%, sin 2 beta to +/-0.06, and sin 2 alpha to +/-0.09.
