摘要
We propose and demonstrate a novel broadband chaos generator using monolithic-integrated dual-mode amplified feedback laser (AFL) with an optical feedback. An external fiber loop is used to drive a free-running dual-mode AFL into a chaos state. The intercoupling between the two chaotic oscillation originated from the two laser modes produces a broadband chaos signal with a flat RF spectrum. A robust chaotic signal that covers an RF frequency of over 50 GHz, with a bandwidth of 32 GHz, an effective bandwidth of 28 GHz, and a flatness of 6.3 dB, is experimentally achieved.
