摘要
The current scenario of a health crisis, a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic, reveals the difficulties faced by populations around the world in terms of guarantees of access to water to combat the disease. The objective of this text is to analyze the access to water in the Brazilian Amazon, according to official secondary data, and relate them to the dissemination of Covid-19, in the perspective of the guidelines of health agencies that indicate the hygienization with water and soap, and therefore the access to this resource, for the prevention against the new coronavirus. Through bibliographic review and the secondary data, it can be noticed that in Brazil there is great inequality in basic sanitation service, with low rates of access to water in the Northern region, formed by the Amazonian states. In this same region are the states with the highest incidence coefficient of Covid-19 to date, revealing the serious regional health situation in view of the spread of the disease.
