摘要
The present work aims to examine the international scientific literature to contribute to the deepening of knowledge about the gig economy, in studies developed from the perspective of the worker. To this end, we used three models of analyses: bibliometric, scientometric, and content, which provided a dynamic picture of the structure of the knowledge domain in this field nowadays. The results show that the field is recent and promising, beginning in 2016, marked by the publication in journals with high impact factors, located in the first quartile, which informs that the field of studies is of interest to the international academic community. Besides, we identified the main authors and co-cited documents, the keywords with the highest occurrence and with the highest explosion of citations, containing trends on the subject. We propose the classification of studies in this field from three perspectives: The Bright Side, The Dark Side, and State Regulation. Finally, the research routes in the form of challenges to be overcome by researchers. In this way, we invite researchers to contribute to this research agenda for the construction of a field under construction.
