On the Micromelerpetontidae (Amphibia: Temnospondyli) 3.: Eimerisaurus n.g.

The skull roof, palate, lower jaw and parts of the postcranial skeleton of "Pelosaurus" guembeli REIS 1913 from the lowermost Permian of the Saar-Nahe Basin (SW Germany) are redescribed. A new genus Eimerisaurus is established for the reception of "Tersomius" graumanni Boy 1980 (as the type species) and "Pelosaurus" guembeli. The most important features of the genus Eimerisaurus are the presence of a medial projection of the squarnosal into the supratemporal, a "sclerotic mosaic" composed of irregularly polygonal platelets, a low nasal flange on the ventral surface of the skull roof, and a low dorsal process of the palatine, which lacks a LEP (lateral exposure of palatine). In a preliminary analysis Eimerisaurus is compared to species referable to the Micromelerpetontidae and Amphibamidae.
