摘要：

The characteristics of a circular patch microstrip antenna with a top-loaded monopole feed are investigated. Air is used as the dielectric substrate. The distance between the radiating patch and ground plane is similar to 0.15 lambda(0). The patch is excited in the TM01 mode. An impedance bandwidth (SWR < 2) of 50% and an average gain of 5dBi are obtained.
