摘要
Through a longitudinal analysis based on social metabolism and environmental conflict and an extensive review of technicians, scientists and statisticians documents, it has been demonstrated that in period 1990-2017 pineapple production oriented to mains wolrd markets has presented a significantly growth in the Atlantic/Caribbean region of Costa Rica. This growth has required large quantities of pesticides, whose residues are filtered into environment and cause contamination and damage to people's health. Thus, it is possible to afirme that pineapple`s production system is responsable of environmental conflicts between communities, corporations and State beacuse local population interprets that this type of agriculture attents against health and social reproduction.
