摘要
The relaxed work concept is introduced as another ingredient of linear viscoelasticity. The relaxed work from a history H′ to another history H is the minimum work required to approach H by continuations of H′. It is shown that when a given dissipation postulate holds, the relaxed work from the natural state and the opposite of the relaxed work to the natural state are the maximum and the minimum, respectively, among all free energies vanishing at the natural state.
