摘要
The application of Ultrawideband (UWB) wireless technology in industrial environment is discussed. The industrial environment presents wireless technologies with challenging operating conditions which include electromagnetic and RF interference. Time dispersion can cause multipath fading or intersymbol interference. The UWB transmission is based on Hertz's spark gap experiment, which showed the transmission of impulse. Carrier-based transmissions have enabled greater control and regulation of the radio spectrum compared to impulse radio. UWB technology can use either impulse or carrier-based transmissions but carrier based transmission is preferred. The transmission hops between several subbands with time, occupying one subband for a short time before hopping to the next. MB-OFDM divides the allocated UWB spectrum into 13 subbands of 500 MHz each. The system can disable subbands falling in noisy parts of the spectrum, limiting the effects of interference.
