摘要
Concept maps are graphic organizers that allow the representation of knowledge as a series of concepts that are connected with linked words to form a proposition, give a clear idea of complex concepts and facilitate teaching-learning. This work aims to assess the importance of the concept map as a useful instrument in the teaching-learning process. A bibliographic review was carried out using search engines such as Cochrane, Medline, PubMed; SciELO and academic Google, using keywords. Simple concept maps were found to consist of two concepts linked by linking word to form a proposition; They are widely used by teachers, psychologists, students, in which they favor the acquisition of skills related to the use of information and theories in new situations. They offer the possibility of organizing knowledge through a simple but structured network of concepts, generating a graphic product of representation of the information that generates knowledge. It was concluded that concept maps are teaching skills necessary for the appropriation of the essentialities of the content in the teaching and learning process.
