摘要：
The aim of this article is to introduce with Janis Cimze, one of the most famous Latvian pedagogue and musician, and his contribution in music education area. There isn't enough research work done in Latvian musicology recording his contribution in music and music education. Janis Cimze was the first Latvian pedagogue who included in curriculum of Vidzemes pedagogue seminar such music subjects as music theory and instrument playing. Thus Janis Cimze began a new direction in Latvian educational training promoting development of esthetic and musical education.
