Color Doppler energy also called as power Doppler is a recent development of the Doppler technique, which promises improved detection of blood flow. In this paper our first experience with this technique are reported. Power Doppler proved very useful in the evaluation of uterine and ovarian perfusion. It improved the diagnosis of pelvic masses and the evaluation of endometrial receptivity. In obstetrics, power Doppler was most useful in the evaluation of intra-placental blood flow and in depicting fetal vessels more accurately than by conventional color Doppler. However, fetal movements may caused flashing artifacts, which sometimes affect the image and prolong the duration of the scan.
