Breast cancer and environment: Possibilities of prevention

The increase of breast cancer incidence in the western developed countries still today is explained by the changed environmental influences (nutrition, environment,"lifestyle"). Irrespective of numerous and expensive studies we have to state today that there are only few factors, which may influence the genesis of breast cancer. However, the characterization of a single environmental factor as a risk or preventive factor is obstructed by the complexity of environmental factors. Nevertheless, a prevention of breast cancer and other civilization diseases,seems achievable by healthy nutrition and lifestyle. Since this long-term effort has to begin early in childhood, only the individual itself and its parents can take responsibility.
