摘要
HZSM-5 and Cr/HZSM-5 solids were prepared and tested as potentially appropriate catalytic materials for CH3SH abatement for the first time. The effect of Cr loading on the physicochemical properties of HZSM-5 and its catalytic activity in CH3SH conversion and its products of decomposition were investigated and discussed. It was found that Cr/HZSM-5 is much more active than pure HZSM-5, where CH3SH can be completely converted at 450 degrees C as opposed to pure HZSM-5 (600 degrees C). However, an excessive loading of Cr species caused active Cr species not to be stabilized on the HZSM-5 zeolite support, resulting in no improvement of catalytic activity with increasing Cr loading.
