C-Cl and C-F coupling in C60(SbCl4F)x

摘要
C-60(SbCl4F)(x) was made by reacting C-60 and antimony tetrachloride fluoride, SbCl4F. Infrared absorption bands in the ranges 800-950 and 950-1200 cm(-1) showed that there is C-Cl and C-F coupling. When C-60(SbCl4F)(x) is heated at 100 degrees C for 12 h, C-60 is recovered with the removal of all the SbCl4F coupling. Raman spectroscopy shows that the sample is sensitive to a laser beam intensity of 100 mW/mm(2) with decomposition to SbCl4F and C-60. X-ray diffraction indicates that the sample is non-crystalline; it may be due to the presence of the (SbCl3 F-2)(4) tetramer which is too large to occupy the interstitial sites of C-60.
