摘要
In this paper, an annular spoof surface plasmon polariton (SSPP) based metamaterial inspired terahertz (THz) sensor has been designed. The geometry exhibits three different modes depending upon the frequency changes from 0.7-2 THz due to the variation of dielectric constant of the external biological material. The geometry has been simulated and analyzed in full-wave simulator and fabricated in the laboratory. The obtained sensitivity is 550 GHz/RIU with figure of merit 5.5. The proposed annular SSPP-based sensor geometry paves the way to possible uses in biochemical sensing applications.
