Studies on the synthetic and structural aspects of bismuth(III) bis(dialkyldithiophosphate) dialkyl-dithiocarbamates and complexes of chlorobismuth(III) bis(dialkyldithiophosphate) with triethylamine

摘要
Mixed bismuth(III) bis(dialkyldithiophosphate)dialkyldithiocarbamate derivatives with the general formula [(RO)(2)PS2](2)BiXCS2 [ where R = i-Pr and i-Bu, X = NMe2, NEt2 and N(CH2CH2)(2)] have been synthesised by the reactions of chlorobismuth(III) bis(dialkyidithiophosphate) with sodium. and/or ammonium dialkyldithiocarbamates in 1: 1 molar ratio in refluxing anhydrous benzene. These derivatives have been crystallized in benzene, n-hexane (1:1) mixture. Reaction between chlorobismuth(III) bis(dialkyldithiophosphate) and triethylamine in 1:1 molar ratio in anhydrous dichloromethane at room temperature yielded addition complexes of the type [(RO)(2)PS2](2) BiCl.NEt3 (where R is i-Pr and i-Bu). All these yellow crystalline solid derivatives are soluble in common organic solvents like chloroform, benzene, carbon tetrachloride. These derivatives have been characterised by elemental analysis (C,H,N,Bi and S) melting points as well as IR and NMR (H-1, C-13 and P-31) spectral studies. On the basis of above spectral data tentative structures for these complexes have been proposed.
