摘要
Video codec quality is uneven, traditional testing method is relatively complicated and subjective evaluation method is poor stability, this paper proposed an objective evaluation method of encoding and decoding quality. This method adopt image quality assessment method based on structural similarity (SSIM) to contrast reference video and after encoding and decoding video. Then it solve the problem of "homologous and asynchronous" between the two videos, and calculate codec quality similarity index which comprehensive represents video codec quality. The experimental results shows that the method is stable, reliable and can effectively evaluate the encoding and decoding quality of codec.
