摘要
Global warming has been threatening agro-ecosystems followed with a rising pest problem. Many studies have proven that resistance is the most practical and economical approach. Some studies showed that there is a positive correlation between wettability and lignin which can play an important role as a physical barrier against pests. Therefore, identifying QTLs influencing leaf surface wettability is an important objective in order to enhance pest resistance in rice. The droplet method was introduced and collected contact angle data as a phenotype data in a CNDH population. In this study, we generated a physical map and analysis of gene information. One QTL was identified on chromosome 6. We used candidate gene approach for identifying the target gene. Although there were many other genes between the RM20355 and RM528 markers to check for selection, we however selected Cinnamoyl-CoA reductase (CCR) enzyme due to its key role in lignin biosynthesis. The result of protein sequence showed NADP-binding sites which is an essential component of the CCR gene. We have to confirm the stability of genetic characteristics for further study. Then a breeding program on incorporating a CCR gene for pest resistance into germplasm could be initiated.
