摘要
There is a move in the automotive industry, driven by evermore stringent worldwide legislation, towards more efficient, safer and "cleaner" cars. At the same time, the cars should be easier to design and manufacture, making them more cost efficient. It is fairly clear that in the next five years, the automotive industry Mill follow the aircraft industry in its adoption of highly dependable, fault-tolerant "by-Wire" systems. The first "by-Wire" functions to appear in cars will be "Brake-by-Wire", or electro-mechanical brakes (EMB), and "Steer-by-Wire", Here the opportunities and the methodology are reviewed.
