摘要
This article concerns Polish and German modern images based on the iconography of so called "Rape of Europe". Deals mainly with the kind of pictures which represent political or civilisational interpretation of the image and refer to the relation between Poland (or Eastern Europe) and Western Europe (or European Union). The image is here treated as the way of expressing certain ideas and as a form of reflection on the situation of certain cultural and political being. It also reflects how people belonging to a certain group judge (through images) the situation of this group, ongoing changes, and the relation with "the Other". For that reason the article basicly represents imagological implications of contemporary reinterpretations of this particular iconographical subject.
