摘要
Synovial cyst is a rare degenerative lesion and generally occurs in population of old age. It may be accompanied by various degrees of lumbar spondylosis associated with the degeneration within the spinal colon. A 65-year-old male patient has been presented. The patient had complaints that could be attributed to neurogenic intermittent claudication. On neurologic examination, signs of radicular compromise were noted. MRI revealed synovial cyst and spondylosis. Operation consisted of cyst excision and decompressive surgery. On the follow up examination 6 months later, the patient was free of complaints, and control x-ray showed no signs of instability. In the light of this outcome, it can be said that decompressive surgery with cyst excision may be a good choice of treatment and may be performed without stabilization in the absence of spondylolisthesis preoperatively.
