摘要
The Muon Science Laboratory at the Materials and Life Science Facility is now under construction in Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC), where four types of muon channels are planned to be installed. A conventional superconducting muon channel will be installed at the first stage, which can extract surface (positive) muons and decay positive/negative muons up to 120MeV/c, and the expected muon yield is a few 10(6)/s at 60 MeV/c (for both positive and negative). This channel will be used for various kinds of experiments like muon catalyzed fusion, mu SR and nondestructive elements analysis. The present status of the superconducting muon channel is briefly reported. (c) 2008 Published by Elsevier B.V.
