摘要
The paper analyses the impact of the static-var compensator (SVC) on the power quality, specifically on harmonic distortion. To minimize the daily voltage fluctuations caused by variations in the power consumption, power transfer over the Slovenian power transmission network and voltage levels in the neighboring countries, effective solutions are needed for voltage control by controlling the reactive power. This can be assured by using passive reactive elements (shunt reactors and shunt capacitors) or active compensation devices, such as SVC. As one of the possible solutions the paper proposes SVC connected at the Berie'evo transformer station. The impact of the harmonic distortion on the network is analyzed also in terms of different configurations of the Slovenian power transmission system.
