摘要
Chemical composition, total phenolic (TPC), total flavonoid (TFC) contents and antioxidant parameters: radical scavenging activity against DPPH and ABTS, total reducing power (TRP) and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), were determined in ten samples of propolis ethanol extract, originated from different regions of Serbia. The following constituents were detected in all samples: flavonoids (pinobanksin, chrysin, pinocembrin, galangin, pinostrobin and tectochrysin) and phenolic acids (caffeic acid and ferulic acid). All tested samples had better antioxidant properties in comparison with previously published results for propolis samples from different regions of the world. Obtained results indicate that the traditional Serbian procedure of preparing the extract of propolis is effective and the surrounding vegetation is a good source of the starting compounds for bees to produce propolis with good antioxidant properties.
