We study classes of boundary value problems involving the p-Laplacian operator and nonlinearities which have failing zeroes. We analyze the existence and multiplicity of positive solutions when a parameter is large. We use the method of sub-supersolutions to establish our results. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd.
