摘要
To improve the load capacity and reduce the influence of misalignment, the mathematical model and computerized analysis of spiral bevel gears based on geometric elements have been developed, which are point contact with normal cross-sectional circular arc tooth profiles and established on spherical involute spiral bevel drives, leading to the separability of shaft angle. The meshing theory and numerical model of the meshing pairs are put forward. The contact and meshing performance are discussed in detail, which include the point-contact meshing characteristics, the separability of shaft angle, the sliding characteristics and the contact ratio of the meshing pairs. The formation of contact and bending stress during the cycle of meshing is presented. The influence of misalignment on the contact pattern and transmission errors is analyzed. The proposed ideas have been demonstrated by fabrication and rolling tests of the prototypes to ensure the validity of the meshing theory and manufacturing feasibility of the new design.
