摘要
The Great Gatsby is commonly regarded as a man's book and full of misogyny. This paper focuses on one of the main female characters, Daisy Buchanan, to illustrate female modernity in the novel. This will be done by analyzing Daisy's attitude toward marriage and family, which is very different from the traditional women's. It comes to the conclusion that the novel depicts female modernity and shows great concern about women. Thus, The Great Gatsby is also a women's book.
