Since 2005, the Zero Emissions Platform (ZEP) has been championing the development and deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS). Bringing together a diverse range of interested parties, the platform has been an important stakeholder in fostering engagement and facilitating constructive dialogue with the European Union's (EU) policymakers. Dr Graeme Sweeney, ZEP's Chairman, explained to Muriel Cozier why ZEP believes that the EU is, at last, picking up the pace on CCS deployment and discusses the importance of the endorsement of CCS by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to further promote its benefits.
