A wide tuning range push-push voltage controlled oscillator (WO) is implemented in a Ka-band frequency synthesizer for mm-wave communication. The proposed LC-VCO is realized employing a switched capacitor array in a 55nm CMOS technology with 1.217 supply voltage. The results of simulation reveal that the fundamental output of the VC() can vary from 13.54GHz to 19.96GHz, while a push push structure doubled the output frequency toward 27.08GHz to 39.92GHz, corresponding to a frequency tuning range (FTR) of 38.32 % At 1MHz offset, phase noise is -112.50dBc/Hz and -105.32dBc/Hz at 28GHz and 39GHz respectively, with a 5.01mW dissipation power.
