Improvements in health behavior theory will be central to creating successful interventions that encourage and support behavior change and maintenance. The authors discuss dynamic, multimethod, conceptually driven, and data-rich approaches for the development of testable computational models of health-related behaviors in real time. © 2014 IEEE.
