We prove some upper and lower estimates for the effective energy corresponding to the homogenized p-Laplacian equation and we even find all cases where these estimates coincide. For the case p = 2, the linear conductivity case, our results generalize those obtained earlier in [2], [3] and [4]. We also point out that our estimates are tighter than those obtained by Tartar in [6] when the conductivity tensor is isotropic.
