THE "MONETARY" REFORMS OF SOLON

What is the exact meaning of the term nu omicron mu iota sigma mu alpha in the description of the metrological reform attributed by authors of the IVth century BC to the Athenian legislator Solon, who worked in the first third of the VIth century BC, i.e. before the appearance of coinage in Greece? A revision of the concepts of drachma, mine, talent and stater involved in this reform should make it possible to better understand its context, mechanisms and significance.
