Genital malformations are rare but important complications of adolescent life. Children with intersex disorders often present at birth, whereas children who have malformations of the vagina or uterus may not present until adolescence. A holistic approach to the management of patients with congenital abnormalities is essential if a successful outcome is to be achieved.
