Synchronization of two coupled second-harmonic generation systems

Complex dynamics of a system of the second-harmonic generation (SHG) of light with a modulated pump field is investigated. We used the Lyapunov exponents map to indicate the parameters of the pump for which the system generates a hyperchaotic signal. The possibility of synchronization of two coupled second-harmonic generation systems is proved. Both systems due to different initial conditions generate two hyperchaotic outputs and their uniformity is achieved in the case of coupling by a differential feedback common signal. We investigate the mutual and the unidirectional coupling case and we show a threshold-like features for synchronization in both cases. The role of dumping in the system is presented.
