摘要
The two- and three-dimensional contact problems with fretting wear in the gross-slip regime are considered from a unified point of view in the framework of linear elasticity. It is assumed that the linear wear is proportional to the accumulated dissipated energy due to friction with a variable Coulomb coefficient. Based on a uniform approximation for the contact pressure, an asymptotic model for the evolution of the contact zone is constructed for arbitrary initial gap between the surfaces of contacting elastically similar bodies. In the case of Hertzian contact geometry, the model equations are derived in the explicit form.
