This chapter gives an elementary introduction to plasma waves in single-species non-neutral plasmas. The plasma is presumed to be trapped in an elongated cylindrical trap with an axial magnetic field; this geometry is referred to as a Penning Malmberg trap. The first part concerns low frequency drift waves, called diocotron waves, followed by plasma waves of two different types, and the last part of the chapter is about cyclotron waves, which are the highest frequency electrostatic waves in Penning Malmberg traps.
