A novel diiron dithiolate complex n[(mu-SCH2)(2)NCH2PhFe2(CO)](5)[eta(5)-Ph2PC5H4)Fe] (1); as the active site of WeFel-hydrogenases, has been prepared and structurally characterized. The title complek was prepared by treatment of [(mu=SCH2)(2)NCH2Ph]Fe-2(CO)(6) (A) with 1,1- (diphenylphosphino)-ferrocene (DPPF) [(eta(5)-Ph2PC5H4)(2)Fe] in the presence of Me3NO center dot 2H(2)O-in MeCNIat room temperature in 53 To yield. The new complex 1 was characterized by IR, H-1 NMR, (31) P NMR and C-13 NMR spectroscopy.
