摘要：
Growing demand for water quality, in particular that of clean drinking water, guarantees that activated carbons have numerous current and future applications. The challenge consists in adapting their textural and surface chemistry properties to the resolution of new problems, while decreasing their manufacturing cost. This motivates active research, both applied and fundamental: the possibility of using new precursors, the understanding of the mechanisms of carbonization, activation, adsorption and regeneration.
