摘要：

The predominant place of topical beta-blockers as first-tine, initial treatment for glaucoma and ocular hypertension is currently challenged with the availabitity of topical prostaglandin analogues. We present and discuss available data and arguments to permit to the ophthalmologist the better choice, individually tailored to a given patient, between these two therapeutic classes.
