摘要
Arterial and central venous blood gases can be valuable when monitoring the critically ill veterinary patient. Arterial blood can provide information regarding the pulmonary system. Central venous blood can provide information regarding global tissue oxygenation and perfusion as well as total body acid-base status. Information obtained from arterial and venous blood gases provides a basis for calculation of important variables, such as oxygen content and the alveolar-arterial oxygen difference.
