In the presence of Cu2+ (10(-5) M) very little NO is generated from GSNO at similar to 10(-3) M at pH 7.4, whereas the reaction is quantitative at similar to 10(-6) M; this is explicable in terms of the complexation of Cu2+ by the product GSSG.
