摘要：

A study is conducted to investigate the existence of defects including those unobservable visually in coverings of nanomaterials, seismology, and material science. A method of investigation of such defects in coverings based on the topological approach has been developed to conduct the investigations. The analysis of defects is given by the example of investigation of the stress-deformed state of a block structure consisting of two-dimensional horizontally located polytypic blocks contacting among themselves along boundaries. The block structure is arranged on the surface of a three-dimensional linearly deformable substrate. The block structures under consideration are subjected to vertical harmonic external action.
