摘要
This article aims to analyze through statements emerging from Classical Antiquity which gain echo today the speeches that work for the silencing of female voice and public speech. Proceeding from Michel Foucault's Discourse Analysis discussions, the article asserts the historical depth of the speeches in order to analyze Tabata Amaral, Federal Deputy acting for the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil statements made during his public pronouncements. The aim was to demonstrate that the memories of the classical period, despite the discontinuities promoted by Western culture, are still materialized in our contemporary political tradition.
