In this paper, recent development on hydrogen storage materials composed of lighter elements than magnesium in the periodic table are reviewed after surveying on general feature of three different hydrogen storage systems; high-pressure hydrogen gas storage, liquid hydrogen storage and materials-mediated hydrogen storage systems.
