摘要
In the present scenario, fruitful efforts have been amended by various researchers in the development of nanocarriers with biological products that can challenge fundamental tasks in chronic wound management. The productive management of skin defects, those infecting the hypodermic tissue, fascia or muscles postpones remedial progression and appears as lifetime threatening as well as pose financial burden to the patients. Therefore, more effective treatments as well as delivery systems are essential requirements according to modern world's scenario to deal with such abandoned situations. The widespread variety of available wound dressings and delivery approaches offer the advantage of attenuating bacterial infection and have easy availability but at the same time are associated with risk of toxicity and thus leads to life threatening conditions. Thus, there is an urgent need to explore in depth the role of nanotechnology and nanobiotechnology in the management of pathological wound phenomenon. The present review attempts to analyze the up-to-date status of nanotechnology and nano-biotechnology based approaches required for management of wounds and novel delivery of active therapeutics which plays an intricate role in the healing of chronic wounds. The thorough and systematic findings reported in the current review also attempts for the collection of missing knowledge in existing literature and offers researcher to engage in validation of the traditional claims and development of safe, effective and novel delivery of globally accepted drugs.
