摘要
The microstructures and mechanical properties of Mg-6Al-0.6Zn alloy with Sm addition have been investigated. The results show that Sm can dramatically improve the yield strength and tensile strength of the alloy at 20-175 degrees C. With 0.5-2.0 wt.% Sm addition, the microstructure of alloy is remarkably refined. Spotted, high-melting point Al2Sm phases are found in the alloy. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the alloy with 1.5 wt.% Sm addition are found to be optimum. (C) 2009 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
